reading list

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, Barbara Kingsolver
This Organic Life — just got this! excited to read, BKingsolver recommends
Gardening at the Dragon’s Gate, Wendy Johnson — beautiful book I fell in love with at the bookstore and eventually bought
Second Nature, Michael Pollan

Garden Primer, Barbara Damrosch
Organic Gardening: the Natural No-Dig Way, Charles Dowding — excellent read i found this weekend as well, might not need the next book:
Lasagna Gardening
Vegetable Gardener’s Bible
Rodale Organic Gardening
The New Organic Grower,
Eliot Coleman
The Gardener’s Year, Alan Titmarsh (has accrued me the most fines at the BPL!)
The Sustainable Vegetable Garden, John Jeavons (author was recommended)
Gaia’s Garden: A Guide to Home-Scale Permaculture, Toby Hemenway
The Self Sufficient-ish Bible, Andy and Dave Hamilton, Leah gave me this book at work and it’s BEAUTIFUL–because, obviously, we have similar tastes (:

Anti-Cancer, David Servan-Schreiber, an incredible case for the impact and importance of food in our lives. this is a must-read for everyone.
Omnivore’s Delimma, Michael Pollan
In Defense of Food, Michael Pollan

In Season: cooking with vegetables and fruits, another book from Leah and her one-stop-shop Anthropology because why go anywhere else? and it’s awesome too.
Jamie at Home, this book i drool over, it’s actually similar in production (paper, binding) to the Self Sufficient-ish Bible above, and it has all these recipes so i might not need it anymore. but it’s hot

Love the gloves hanging up…and your inspiration for this! Love dead slugs too, but hate you had to waste the beer.
